The scientific community has shown much interest in certain groups of people who possess better than average health and longevity.
Prominent among these are the Seventh-day Adventists (The Advent People), especially those who most closely follow the health principles found in the Bible and writings of Ellen White.
Study after study has found that Seventh-day Adventists throughout the world rank dramatically ahead of the rest of the population with significantly less heart disease, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer’s, etc.
This is of special interest in developed countries since the majority of illnesses and deaths are from these diseases.
Over 300 research studies have reported on the health benefits experienced by the members of this church, made up of people from all different races and cultures. These studies consistently show that Adventists around the world live longer, healthier lives.
A review of the key results of the five Adventist Health Studies demonstrating the advantage of practicing a healthy lifestyle.
Adventist Health Studies are long-term health studies exploring the links between lifestyle, diet, and disease among members of the Seventh-day Adventist church, a Christian denomination that encourages a vegetarian diet and calls for abstinence from alcohol and tobacco. Adventists are ideal for epidemiological studies in that their similarity in lifestyle behaviours (such as not smoking) reduces the likelihood of confounding that is often present in other study groups. To date there have been five Adventist Health Studies, based out of Loma Linda University.
Study after study has shown that this group lives longer and has lower rates of cancer and coronary heart disease than the general population. Now anyone can realise these astonishing health benefits.
